Ambition

I wanted to do one more layout for kylies album before I give it to her tonight...and I remembered that I had not scrapped these photos from their holiday last year. BG Marrakech was ideal...funnily enough!! so I used up what I had left to make this page. I have left the journaling area empty as I want her to write her own.

Really looking forward to tomorrow....off to trade show at the NEC, so will get to "touch and stroke" all the new delish things on offer...let you know tuesday how I got on!!

Basic Grey Marrakech

So my stash ban did not last as long as it should have but its all Basic Greys fault!! I have had this photo since last summer and with a quite bright blue and orange in it, its been a devil to match papers to.....well thats my excuse!! So when I saw the Marrakech range by BG at CHA last month, I had to have it and the whole collection pack as it would have been rude to have just a few papers from the collection....I might have missed something..hehe! I have noticed alot of retailers now are not stocking the entire range of all the BG paper ranges and I can see why...there are usually 4 collections at a time (although BG are splitting the releases in 2 the others in a few months time) there are lots of 12x12 papers then you have all the embellishments as well. By getting the collection pack you get all the papers and sticker sheet plus an alphabet and it does not take up anywhere as much room in a shop as having everything individually...plus it helps with their costs.

Anyway back to the layout....everything on the page came from the pack except the American Craft thickers I used for the title.

Kylie

Took another dive into my crate of kits yesterday and I managed to get another two done for my sons girlfriends album. I gave Kylie an album last year but not had a chance to do many layouts to go in it, so as its her birthday this week ,I thought I would concentrate on layouts for her this week...and she can have them as part of her present.

This was a scrapagogo kit...there was a book with it but in all the mess my rooms been in, its seems to have developed legs! so I went with my own idea. The scalloped Bazzill was in the kit with the Crate papers and dies cuts. The rub on is from Basic Grey and is my own and the flowers are just from my stash. The ribbon came with the kit.

Class

Had an great day today taking a scrapbooking crop where I did a layout and the girls brought their own stash to replicate it....I did two pages with a very similar layout but used different styles of paper. In the layout "21" the papers and numbers are from Scenic Route and the clear buttons are from Stampin'Up!. In "Little one" the papers are from the Imaginisce Baby powder range as is the stamp and the brad buttons. The flourishes are from Sizzix and the flowers are a retro daisy punch.

We are family

Managed to get back to some scrapbooking last night after spending most of the week clearing out cupboards!!

These papers are from Prima Dude collection...again not something I would normally buy but I picked them up last year and found them whilst looking for something else! I think I planned to do a layout of one of my sons with it...but I liked this photo as well and I still have plenty to do another layout. The title is 3 bugs in a rug stickers and the ribbon is from my stash.

Time to use your stash!

With the country in the state its in at the moment spending money on scrapbooking is understandably lower on the list for most of us...although we all love it with a passion its not the cheapest hobby in the world! Its very hard to just buy a piece of patterned paper or cardstock without a few more co-ordinating pieces falling into your basket and maybe some matching embellishments at the same time, I am sure we have all been there done that...I know I have!! So I have decided to try an idea for a all day crop that lets you use your own stash to replicate a layout I have done. The cost of the day is £10.00 from 10.30 to 4.00 at the Crafty Cockney, Hullbridge, Essex. You get free tea/coffee biscuits and I will email you the layout I have done and a rough idea of what types/styles/sizes of paper I have used. On the day you will have the layout in front of you and I will bring along die cuts, stamps, embellishments etc to help you with the page. All you need to do is bring along your own papers, embellishments if you have them and photos. If you don't have anything you can either buy from the shop or I may be able to get the papers etc I have used for you and you just pay the actual cost....depending if I have used old or new lines. After you have completed your layout the rest of the day is for you to carry on with your own layouts or finishing off the uncompleted layouts that are piling up. I do have some kits from previous classes that I can bring along for you to see, they all come with instructions and photos of layouts.

Dates booked:

Saturday 7th February
Saturday 7th March
