A little time to scrap

I hope you all had a great Christmas....just before the cookathon kicked off for Christmas Day I managed to snatch a couple of hours to do a bit of scrapping.  With all the cards done I like to spend some time over the holidays to scrap photos of past Christmas's that I have not used yet.  It also helps trying to make some indent in the mountain of Christmas papers I have!!

These photos are from a day out James and Kylie had last year to the Christmas market in Manchester last year with friends. These papers are from Pink Paislee and the colour combo is very different, I brought them last year before he went and amazingly they match really well with the photos they took!!

The collection is called Mistletoe and Co and for the title I used some Prima chipboard alphabets, everything else is from Pink Paislee.

Canvas class

This month I taught a canvas class at home and in the shop instead of a layout. These are ideal to give as gifts or keep yourself.  The paper range is My Minds Eye Lost and Found 2 Sunshine and I used the 6x6 pad. The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and the border punch is Martha Stewart Arch Lattice. I used a Nestabilities tag to cut out the "adore" and then added a few brads. The canvas was primed and sealed with Mod Podge and I added some lace and pearls to the flower centres. The title was a Tim Holtz alphabet "Vintage Market" which I covered with matt accents and the leaves were Martha Stewart Frond punch.

In2crafting class

Today I had a wonderful class at In2crafting, the theme this month was heritage and the layout used the Bo Bunny Timepiece papers and stickers. I have just got some new Tim Holtz dies and they worked really well with these layout. The swirls, hinge and key were all die cut with Grungepaper and then coloured with Distress inks. The flowers are from the tattered flowers die.

I try and make another layout with the leftovers, so this is what I came up with by just adding another piece of plain white 12x12.  The corner stamps are from the same collection and I used a more upto date photo to keep with the time theme with the generation to generation stickers that in the kit.  The clock is also a Tim Holtz die again on Grungepaper and inked with Distress inks. The flowers are from the Spellbinders Carnation set, I just added a few brads in the centres.

Next class is on Saturday 10th December and will be last one until late Jan 2012...its a layout on a canvas, great idea for a Christmas present....there a few places left.

Novembers kit

Today I had my monthly scrapbooking class and we used the fabulous Summers End range from Fancy Pants. Quite alot of cutting out but I think its worth it. I used the Stampin'Up Sizzix cut and emboss Buttons die with some scraps to make the buttons. The frame has been cut on the cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge. Stampin'Up twine was used on the tag and I managed to get two single layouts out of the kit.

Have a great weekend

In2crafting scrapbook class

Had a lovely relaxed scrapbooking class this afternoon at the shop. Great to see some ladies that are new to scrapping and I had a real mix of ages today, which was lovely.

This is the double layout we worked on, everything was from the Echo Park Splash range.  Great for holiday photos by the sea, pool or in the garden with the paddling pool.

As usual I did another layout with the 1 sheet I had not used and some left over bits and pieces.

All my spare papers are in the shop, if you would like a kit put together for you with instructions give them a ring.

Next class is on Saturday 26th November and its a heritage layout.

Have a great weekend

Monthly class kit

We had our monthly scrapbook class today and the kit included cardstock and stickers from a new company called Authentique.  As its holiday time I went with the Journey collection, lovely blues, browns and greys, great neutrals for day trip and holiday photos. I also decided I wanted to make a double layout that held plenty of photos. If you are like me I take loads when I am away and some of them dont always warrant a scrapbook page just on there own but you still want them in your album. So I mixed up the photo sizes between 6x4's portrait and landscape and then filled in with others that are 3 1/4" x2 { I use picassa and I can get 3 photos on one 6x4 photo printer paper. In total I have 10 photos on the front and another 9 hidden, I could have had more if I had not wanted to leave room for the journaling. On righthand side of the layout there is a flap that when opened out holds the extra photos.

flap opened to reveal more photos

I left the journaling space free so my son can fill in everything they did, the day in Florence was his surprise birthday present from his girlfriend. The stickers are all from the same collection and the only thing I added was the tab punch from Stampin'up!.

In2crafting august class

I have just taken over the scrapbooking classes at In2crafting and this is the first class.  I wanted to start off with a simple layout and use some die cuts to make flowers.  The papers are from My Minds Eye Stella Rose collection. I use one of my new Marianne frame dies, not only do you get the frame but the 2 flourishes and 2 little flowers as well!

Products  used:

Cardstock/stickers: My minds eye Stella Rose Mabel
Dies: Marianne ribbon flora & frame circle straight{ which includes the swirls and the little flower}
Punches: Martha Stewart Doily lace
Embellishments: kars gem stones & Creative expressions seam binding

I had enough pieces left to make another layout

For the girls in the class that wanted to see how I constructed it...the sizes are as follows:
Stripes 2" x 10" and another piece 2" x 1", damask 2" x 4" and another piece  2" x 2 1/4",  turquoise 2 1/2" x 5" for the punch panel at the bottom 2" x 5" and for the side punched panel 1" x 6", Herringbone reverse 3" x 12", crocheted 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" and you need 2 of them.

products used:

Same as above plus

Coredinations cardstock: Vanilla Ice
Punches: EK Success Arbor
Die cut: Sizzix alpha for title

All the products used can be brought at the shop, any kits left will be available to buy which include full instructions.

Enjoy your weekend

Julys class kit

This month we used Echo Park for the record....love the colours in this kit.  If you had said to me black, red, yellow and green...I probably would have said no thanks, but they work really well together.  Ideally suited for a heritage layout, mine needs some journaling but I have to work our dates and the photo in the second layout is my great great grandfather but not sure which of my nans brothers and sisters the baby is.  When I get time I am going to start work on my family history and hopefully I will get some idea of who it is!!

We stained cream seam binding with Distress ink Scattered Straw and spritzed with water to get that lovely vintage look.

The 2 of u

Had my monthly crop yesterday and I took some time away from class preparations to use up some left overs from an old kit.  Papers are Pink Paislee Queen Bee...still love those cork buttons! The Mustard Bazzill was cut using the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge....loving this cartridge, its on loan from a friend...thanks Jo!  The title was cut on the alphabet thats on the same cartridge.  Flowers are from the newest Tim Holtz Sizzlet die with the 2 concertina flowers on it ...I did 1 big and 2 small.

Anyway back upstairs to clean up the mess..........actually got some class work done this afternoon with 1 eye on the Tennis......congrats Novak....you played brilliantly!!

Enjoy whats left of your weekend

Junes Class kit

Had the girls over today for this months kit, we used the beautiful Basic Grey Sweet Thread papers and stickers.

Love these little ribbon flowers I made to embellish the flower centres....I know its not a new technique to many of you but its the first chance I have had to play with seam binding on a scrapbook page and as its so soft its a doddle to do.  I did 2 sizes using a 3/4" and 1" circle punch and some extra tacky double sided tape...like the red one.  It needs to be a dry glue or else the ribbon will get mucky.  Punch out your circle and adhere dst all over it, so its completely covered.  Starting with your ribbon tightly pinched together start in the middle and work your away around in a circle and keep folding the ribbon as you go.  Each time you fold press the ribbon down onto the dst so it stays stuck down, keep on going until you have worked your way around the whole circle and then cut off leaving enough to stick down onto the back of the circle and add some more dst to hold it place...and you ave it ready in place to attach to your layout.  If there is any card showing...you can carefully cut the excess off....be careful not to catch the ribbon!  You can do any size you want and they are quite flat so not going to take up to much room in your albums.

Made another one up and with a little help took some step by step pics....not great as the light was fading fast, but you get the idea..lol!!

Enjoy your weekend!

ATDML Cybercrop challenge 4

Here is my take on the sketch that was supplied for challenge no. 4.  I have had these photos plus some others in a bag with Thomas papers and stickers from when I started scrapping years ago!!  I kept looking at them and trying to come up with a layout that was not too busy...as the colours are quite bright! Anyway when I saw the sketch this morning....I decided to have another try and go with a less is more look.  Really happy that at last I have one Thomas layout done.

ATDML cyber crop class 2

Ann did a double layout for a class on Fri evening...which I worked on yesterday morning.  I had nothing like what she used but a dig in the old crate and I found some left overs from a Fancy Pants summer kit. I used plain cardstock as the base as I did not have enough of the patterened papers. Great layout for using lots of photos and doing it on an angle gives it a super effect.  I did split some photos in two and then I made some embellishments like the folder and tag. I remembered I had some beachy stamps from Inkadinkado which I think have worked well and to finish off a few stickers I found, which luckily, were the same colour tones as the Fancy Pants range I was using, Title has been done in some chipboard alphabets from MME. I also found the cute little clipboard and fabric embellishment.  Lastly, a little bit of ribbon that was in the kit and a few border from a Tim Holtz die.

The postman brought my kits for next weeks class yesterday so the rest of the day was taken up making the layouts for that...which is now all done.  Got up at silly o'clock this morning to take my son to work so I did one of the challenges which was a great sketch.... I just need to photo then will post later.

Quick shower, walk the dog and get ready for dinner tonight as its Fathers Day I have a BBQ planned...although not sure we will be eating outside if the weather yesterday is repeated.  Then I can crack on with another one of the cybercrop classes.  Its not to late to take part all class details are here

ATDML Cybercrop

Had a few bad weeks with illness so I have decided to take part in this weekends cybercrop with the girls from A Trip Down Memory Lane.  It all kicked off last night with 2 classes, my aim is to complete as many classes as I can...even if its not all done this weekend, but only using stash I have here. Hopefully it will clear a few more bags from my crate of left overs from previous layouts..lol!!

First class last night was Mels.....this is my take on it.  Papers from SEI....going back donkeys years!!

The middle square hides a hidden panel where you can put more photos or journaling.

Its all held down with a magnetic snap....cant find mine at the moment so there will be some journaling to add but I want to the snap to be hidden underneath. I added some alphabet stickers for the date and some metal heart embellishments.  Really happy with it.....took my over the 2 hours so I am behind already..lol!! Off to have a go at Anns class from last night.

If you fancy joining in the fun...go here to get all the details....its completely free and there are some prizes on offer and some challenges to have a go at as well!!  Best of all you can use whatever you have at home....so a great time to finally use all those lush papers you keep stroking..lol!!

Time for some fun

Another layout completed with some left overs I had from ages ago.  Papers/stickers are My Minds Eye Alphabet Soup Boy collection. Small letter stickers are from my Cosmo Cricket.

Mays class

This months class uses the Prima Sparkling Spring collection, lovely collection with very muted pinks, corals and greens.  For the first layout I made a frame from one sheet and built the base layer up inside.

The borders and journaling blocks are from the glitter sticker sheet and the paper flowers are also from Prima.  In the kit I added some of the glass pebbles...really love these.  Finally, the title was done using Prima stickers in Brown.

Heres the second layout...

The flower in the bottom right hand corner is a Marianne die with ribbon threaded through it and the swirl is a Tattered angels stencil with some Stampin'Up Pear Pizzazz ink.....gently applied with a brush.

Enjoy the weekend

Take 2

Theres a story behind this layout.....it was a class I did at my last ATDML retreat.  Last class of the weekend and I rushed the spraying with Tattered Angels sprays.  I never got around to finishing it and everytime I picked it up I liked it less and less....I had gone a bit overboard with the spray!!  So this week I took all the kit leftovers out and had another go.  I have some Tattered Angels sprays so I used a green instead of a bright pink with a Tattered Angels mask just in the middle but also covering the material tag that I had in the kit. With the pieces of Prima cardstock I created the rest of the layout.  The flowers were done in the class, we used canvas and Tim Holtz Tattered Rose die. The canvas pieces were stamped and sprayed as well. I cant remember whose border punch that was but suspect its a Martha or a EK Success.  The only thing I added was the little tickets and journaling panel.  The lace was cream but I sprayed that turquoise and the leaves are one of the new Stampin'Up! sizzlet dies.

Much happier now and another bag out of the crate!!

P 4 Penguins

Todays layout was the left overs from a very very old kit, I think the papers were Sassafrass Lass.....but dont quote me!!! The alphabet was from my stash and the rubons were from the same collection as the paper. Love my new Stampin Up! sizzix dies Fun Flowers....the white layer was some white DCWV chipboard which cut beautifully. The flower centres were also inc the kit..they are brads but look like flower buttons. Journaling label is Maya road.

Another couple of layouts completed last night...I am on roll!!
