Good Cheer

Following on from yesterdays post, this is the layout I did using left overs from the first page and another acetate sheet. Everything on the layout is from the Fancy Pants Christmas Magic range except the numbers which were Making Memories stickers. The flowers and leaves were cut from one of the sheets and I used foam squares to layer them.  The rub ons went on top of the acetate sheet.

Time to play!

Finally, I have done some scrapbooking!  It feels like months ago since I last did some...but with Christmas preparations I have just have not had the time.  I hope you had a lovely christmas and took loads of photos!

I have had a major clear out of my Christmas papers and am trying to use up what I have before I order more!

Todays layout uses papers and an acetate sheet from Fancy Pants.  Most of the papers are underneath the acetate sheet, the photos and embellishments and rub ons are stuck on the top. The chipboard alphabet is from My Minds Eye, which I picked up in Hobbycrafts.

I had some papers and bits left over and I had another acetate sheet so I am just finishing that layout off , will show it next time.

Wall Hanging

In this months class we did a wall hanging, based on one I did last year at a ATDML retreat.  I used Sizzix dies and Nestabilities together with Artsylicious flocked cardstock and Doodlebug crushed velvet cardstock. The "Love" title was made from Thickers chipboard alphabets and I covered them in glossy accents. The hearts have been stamped with tiny detail stamps and then punched out with my Stampin'Up tiny heart punch and coated with glosy accents.  Lastly, I added some Prima flowers and made the hanging out of black velvet ribbbon.

Who would have belived we would have snow in NOVEMBER!!!!

Keep warm and dry

Mini Book

I dont do many mini books but I really enjoyed making this one, the photos are of our holiday this year to Wales and the great thing is you can get so many small photos in a mini book and get it done far quicker than if you were doing 12x12 layouts. The papers are from Little Yellow Bicycle and were last years autumn collection which I had left over from a class. The Title has been cut using one of Tim Holtz's alpabets Vintage Market and the stamp is from Waltzing Mouse. I used one of Tim's edger Sizzix dies for the border. The rest of the album is made up from a chipboard cover and envelopes for the pages. Inside each envelope I put another insert to hold some more photos.

Not getting alot of time for scrapping at the momet as Christmas cards have takn over but I counting the days until I go away for my retreat, hopefully I will get loads done then.

Back to Basics

Not alot of time for scrapping at the moment as I have been preparing card classes but I did manage to finish off a few kits that I am using to finish an album for my husbands nephew that visited us this year from Portugal earlier this year.

This kit from Totalpapercrafts uses the Basic Grey Basics range. Works well with these photos which were proving hard to match upto some patterened papers.  I used some American Craft Thickers for the title. Everything else is from the BG Basics range including the stickers.

I have put details of my next all day crop up for anyone that is interested.  If you want a seat reserved just pop me an email so I know numbers.

Friends

Todays layout is one I did at a recent Totalpapercrafts all day crop.  The papers and stickers are from the Bo Bunny Sophie collection. The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when Kerry surprised us with a visit from Australia, we had a great day catching up after not seeing each other for a couple of years. If you were a customer when we all worked at Pulling on the Glitz in Rayleigh and Southend you might remember her.

Day trip

I am working on an album for my hubbys nephew and girlfriend who came to visit us earlier this year.  They spent one day in Cambridge so I used some old Scenic Route papers I had left over from a kit to make this page.  Very simple layout  but I felt there was enough going on with the papers without me adding lots of photos. The alphabet stickers came with the kit.

Dear santa

After seeing a friends kit for this layout from Crafty Stash , I knew I had to have it!  Websters Pages are so beautiful, you really don't want to cut into them.  Its only a small photo on the page but its works really well and this layout had alot of intricate cutting out, but I persevered and am really pleased with the result. The range is called Home for the holidays.

Bo Bunny Flutter

I have a pile building of layouts I have not had a chance to post, so here is one of them.  The papers are Bo Bunny Flutter, the title is a Autumn Leaves stamp which I stamped on a Sizzix die set that I picked up in the discontinued box at Stevenage show! I used the word window punch for the little journaling tabs at the bottom of the page.

Bella Blvd

Not had a chance to scrapbook for myself in ages, so yesterday I started one layout at a crop and finished the second one last night.  Patterned papers are from Bella Blvd, not a company I use very much but I love this beach range.  Just got to finish some journaling as I am not sure on dates etc and they are done.

Weather is looking lovely today, have a great Sunday whatever you are doing!

More Echo park

This is the layout I made with the leftovers from my last post using Echo Park Summertime, the only thing I added was some white foam Thickers for the title and a brad.

I still have some spaces left for this coming Sundays all day crop, details on the side bar.  Would be great to see you...we are a friendly lot...promise..lol!!!

Echo Park Summertime

Great title..."Summertime" I think not, the rain is lashing down so hard I can hardly hear myself type..lol!!  Where has our lovely hot August gone that we were promised!!  So I decided to post this layout I have just completed of sunny days when the boys were younger { now 23 and 16!!} and playing in the garden at our old house.

Echo Park are a relatively new company from the States, started by the people behind My Minds Eye..one of my favourites scrapbooking companys!!  It has a very different modern feel to it and not the sort of thing I would usually give a second look at...but sometimes you need to push yourself "outside the box" as they say and I am really glad I did.  The papers are quite bright and patterened but on the reverse they have more subtle patterns so one softens the other.  Everything on the page except the buttons/bazzill are from the range, they do a great set of die cut stickers for each range and there is a new one each month.  Summertime was the first one and as the colours went more with my photos thats the one I decided on.

I had enough left over to complete another layout and I will post that next time.

Have a great weekend..hopefully it will be a little drier but according to the weather man maybe not...oh well cant garden so will craft instead and off to Stamperama show on Sunday!!

August kit

This month I am using My Minds Eye So Sophie Charming for class kits. You get full instructions to complete a double and a single layout. This kit includes 2 sheets of Bazzill, 4 double sheets of cardstock and I die cut sheet of cardstock, a set of alphabet stickers, 2 accessory sticker sheets, transparency frame and a title die cut. For my single layout I have used Sweet, chic and glamorous, but you could have "little lady", "open your heart", delightful adorable", "happy for you" or I also have some with no wording that you could stick a die cut a title onto.

Photo sizes: Single layout 7x5 port and for the double 1 6x4 port and 1 6x4 land { either of these could have the transparency on it, I do have extra ones if you want to use 2. Then bring another 4/5 photos, that can be cropped down. There is plenty of room for different sizes, 3 of mine are land and 1 is port.

I am teaching this kit at my house on Sat 28th August and Sat 4th Sept, the cost is £15.00 from 1.00pm, if you are interested in coming along email me.  I still have some spaces for the all day crop on Sunday 22nd August...see details on the side bar.

Friday 6 August 2010

All wrapped up!

The left overs from my previous layout of Kaisercraft Utopia papers and die cuts. The only other thing I added was a button and some Papermania brown alphabet stickers. Photos are my daughter horse, Milly proudly showing off her new winter coat to everyone down the yard..lol!!  If only it was that clean when she comes in from the field..yuk!!!

Next post will be this months kit, just putting together a double layout to go with the single I have already done. I have chosen My minds eye So Sophie charming..beautiful colours.

Have a great weekend

Kaisercraft Utopia

Brought these papers a while back as its one of the few that has purple/mauve as one of the colour combos and I still have quite a few years of my childrens Infants and Junior school photos to do and they had purple uniform throughout the two schools.  Everything on this page except the felt letters which are from Making Memories is from the Utopia range.  I will add a date on the label on the top but I need to complete all her school layouts before I can work out the year...lol!!

Crop

On saturday we had a great day at my first big all day crop for ages, everybody said they had a great time and lots stayed right to the end at 9.30pm...kept going by a fish and chip supper!!

As a result I have been asked to make these crops a regular thing and have today booked the next one for Sunday 22nd August.  For the girls that came along Saturday note that this one is on a Sunday and this is so we can have Imagine That papercrafts shop come to visit us.  Its just makes life alot easier for Emma to come on a day that the shop is closed and it benefits us as she can bring alot more with her than she could if the shop was open. The time is from 9.30am to 9.00pm...but you are free to come and go whenever, I am aware being Sunday some girls have to go to work the next day. The cost is still £10.00 that inc free tea/coffee/cakes etc all day.  We ordered a take away for people stopping all day and will do so again but it might not be fish and chips this time as I am pretty sure my shop does not open on sunday evenings so it will probably be pizza or chinese. You could bring extra food yourself, of course, if you dont fancy either of those. The other thing to mention is that it is not at the hall I had before.....it is now at St Marys church hall Benfleet,  which is just a few houses down from me if you have been to classes at my house before or just around the corner from the WRVS hall I had on Saturday. I am unable to book that hall in August so I am trying this other one instead.   Although its a crop if you are a cardmaker you are more than welcome as well....lots of the girls were doing cards as well as scrapping....everyone is welcome.

Lastly, I have to ask for payment when booking as I need to pay the church up front, so if you want to have a place reserved for you then email me on Jackiedasilva@talktalk.net and I can tell you where and how to send the money.

For those that normally come to me for scrapbook classes Augusts kit will be there on that day, I have run out of weekends again in August and the last one is BH so I know alot of you will be busy or away still on hols.

Think thats all for now, let me know if you need anymore info.

Julys Kit

This months kit is the new My Little Yellow Biycle "pack your bags" papers, you get enough papers etc to complete a double and a single layout.  There are some stickers suitable for America but there are lots of others you can use as well.  Even if you wanted to scrap some photos of a holiday you did not fly to you can adapt what I have used.

If you are coming to the All day crop I will have this months kit there for you, if you dont want to do it on that day thats fine you get instructions inside the kit.  I cut my title on the circut machine, which I will have with me if you want to cut yours there to take with you. The cost of the kit this month will be £10.00

Photos sizes:  Double 2 6x4 { 1 land and 1 port}, 2 4x3 land, 6 3x2 { 5 land and 1 port}
                     Single 1 6x4 port and 1 4x3 land

Both the layouts have space to move things around so dont worry to much about measurements being exact.

The postcode for the hall is SS7 5HE , if you have a sat nav or email me for directions.  Dont forget to bring your lunch and whatever else you want to work on.  I will have my die cutting tools etc with me as well as a small sales table and some of the girls are bringing unwanted stash to sell on...so you will be in with a chance to catch a bargin!! There is free tea/coffee/cakes etc all day and a crop would not be complete without a raffle!!

As I have had so much interest in this crop I am already looking to book another date for the next one...maybe in a larger hall still in Benfleet.  I have already arranged for a friend to bring their shop with them so there will be lots of goodies for you to buy....just got to tie up dates etc, if you want to know details email me and I will let you know when its all sorted.

Mega Crop day and My Minds Eye Jack and Jill

Not had a great amount of time recently for doing my own pages but I had these papers and die cuts laying on the table and after having a browse through some old photos, I found the perfect ones to go with the colours in the cardstock. As like alot of my old photos they don't compare with the digital ones we take now but they are special still and need to be scrapped.

The layout is completely from the My Minds Eye Jack and Jill collection, I just added a few flat back pearls for the birds eyes and flower centres.

If you live locally to me I have a few spaces left for an all day crop on Saturday 24th July...its a mega crop until 9.30pm in the evening.  To be held at the WRVS hall Benfleet, I will be there from 9.00 am, the cost is £10.00 and I will be providing all the necessary cakes and biscuit yummy's and cold and hot drinks. I will also have my cricut and my sizzix dies etc for you to use.You just need to bring some lunch and we are ordering some sort of take away for the evening { not inc in the £10}or you could bring extra to keep you going. A great way to have a finish your pages day or maybe you are just about to start something and would love a whole day to really crack on with a project.  I will have my July kit with me, its Little Yellow Bicycle "Pack your Bags"....details will be on here as soon as the page is done, just waiting for it to wing its way from America.

If you are interested email me on Jackiedasilva@talktalk.net I only have spaces for about 4 more people. I am looking to do these crops on a regular basis, so if you cant come to this one and would like to know when the next one is I can add you to my mailing list.

Interactive layout

This is the layout for this months kit, the girls made a fantastic job of it yesterday.  I did not design this layout, I did it at the ATDML retreat in a class with Dawn and the girls liked it so much they asked if I could show them how to replicate it.  I want to thank Dawn and Mel from ATDML for agreeing to let me teach one of their classes.  The flap opens up and is covered on both sides with photos and the waterfall piece opens up to reveal even more photos.  Great way for using up "snaps" and the paper chosen means anything outdoors is going to work.  Even better still you can cut your page protector and have the interactive elements popping out so you don't have to pull the whole page out each time to see the photos.

The papers and stickers are from the My Minds Eye Rough and Tumble and the swirls is a Sizzix die which I cut in chipboard and inked with a chalk ink pad.

Next months kit is My Little Yellow bicycle Pack your bags....if you are interested in receiving my kits each month or attending classes or crops email me for details.

Material Girl

I have been doing some of my own pages this weekend for a change and Cosmo Crickets Material girl is a lovely range for girls and women in general.  Great with vintage photos as it has the old style sewing images on it as well as sewing elements like scissors, cotton bobbins, tape measure etc.  On saying that I did not have anything heritage suitable but I have wanted to scrap this photo for years as its one of the few of my mum-in-law that I have.  Sadly both hubbys parents are no longer with us and living in Portugal they only got to see their grandhildren a few times a year.  My daughter Emma was wearing a lovely little smocked dress from Marks in a beautiful buttercup yellow....I still have it in the loft..lol!!

The "love" has been cut on the cricut, Home Decor cartridge.  The "Joy" has been stamped on acetate with Black Stazon. The red label sticking out the right hand side is a pull out with a journaling block attached.  Everything else came on the cardstock, I have enough papers to make into kits, if you are interested they are £6.50 {not inc p&p}  You get 4 doublesided cardstock sheets, a sheet of cream Bazzill, the "love" and the "joy" titles already stamped and cut, buttons for the flower centres and the puched tab for the journaling and the stamped journaling block, plus instructions which will be emailed to you.

If you would like one email me on Jackiedasilva@talktalk.net

Enjoy whats left of the BH weekend

Siblings

I have been busy with a mini album for a friend of my sons last week but as that is all done now I had some time last night to do a page from my crate of half done stuff that I am trying hard to work my way through..lol!! These papers are so old its not true, think I got this kit from the first Bonanza I went to at the NEC. SEI Winnie Walls....I love this kit but orange is not something my lot wear now they are older so I used this photo I have had for ages as the colours are just right.  Its not a fab pic but its a special one so had to be scrapped!

Have a great day

Mays class kit

This months kit uses the Pink Paislee "Queen Bee" collection, I love the colours of this range and it works really well with hertiage photos.  I also used some of the PP cork buttons...really lovely and something different.  There are two single layouts this month, each kit comes with a selection of the cork buttons, a whole pack of die cuts, a shaped cardstock sheet and 3 other double sided cardstock sheets and 2 sheets of Bazzill. Title on the first page is a Sizziz alphabet and the second one is Storybook cartridge on the Cricut.
