December class

I had a lovely afternoon today holding my last scrapbooking class of 2012.  Chritmas music playing and lovely chocolate donuts { thanks Barbara} made it an fun time for all.

These are the 2 layouts they did with the kit, papers and stickers are from the Simple Stories Harvest Lane range. I gave the ladies some Hessian to use with leaf Sizzix dies, it cuts a treat and gives a great texture to the layout. For the borders on the second layout I used my new Stampin'Up Tasteful Trims bigz die. The leaves stamps are from Inkadinkado.

In2crafting class

Yesterday I had my scrapbook crop at In2crafting Wickford, this month we used the Teresa Collins Fabrications Canvas collection.

Easy layout which was good as I had some complete newbies yesterday which was lovely to see. The kit came with a sheet of die cuts, one of which was a journaling one, but I carefully cut out the inside and added another small photo. The border was made with a Martha Stewart deep edge punch. I still have a few kits left for anybody interested...just pop me an email they inc instructions.

Septembers kit

A little late, as I ended up not teaching this last month but the girls got their kits yesterday so here's my layouts with Kaisecraft Check in papers and diecuts.

I wanted a double layout with plenty of photos on it and inside the large die cut I have made a little pocket for tickets etc and space for another photo or journaling.

The second layout using the left over papers and more of the diecuts....you get a huge amount in the packs.

I know I have used the same photo twice...its ok I am not loosing the plot, they are going in different albums. One for my son for his honeymoon album and I am going to keep the single page.

Pink Paislee Baytree Cottage

Had Benfleet scrappers week before last and as usual I did not get much done but I did make a start on 2 layouts using left overs from a kit from years ago. As I had the day to myself on Sunday I managed to finish them both off.

All papers etc are from Pink Paislee Baytree Cottage, the pearls are made with a pearl maker pen from Wako, the flowers are two different size punches from carl. The chipboard alphabet is from my stash. Punch for the leaves on the second layout is a Martha Stewart punch.

Using scraps

Hope everyone had a great bank holiday weekend, I finally managed to get a start on sorting the garden and managed to find a little time in my craft room.

Here is the layout I created with the left overs from my last monthly kit and canvas class. Everything is from the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments collection and I used the Tim Holtz Tattered floral garland die again to make the flowers.

Back soon with another layout I did using the scraps from the canvas class and my last kit.

Canvas class

Today I had my first all day class with Emma from Imagine that papercrafts in Upminster. This morning I taught this canvas project. A slight twist in that we used the reverse of the canvas instead of the front. The papers are Carta Bella Beautiful Moments, the metal plate is from Tim Holtz and we covered it with some paperartsy paint and wiped the excess off. The flowers are from the Tim Holtz Tattered Flower Garland Sizzlet die, butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and the corner punch is from EK Success. Inside the plate is a Tim Holtz ticket. Here's some close up pictures of the flowers and the ornate plate. The edges of all the papers have also been dry painted with the Paperartsy Snowflake chalk paint.

I will post a few pictures tomorrow of the mini book Emma taught in the afternoon.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend...fingers crossed no more rain tomorrow I want to start work on the garden!!

August kit...Carta Bella

Re-started my classes this month after moving, for this kit we used the papers etc from Carta Bella Beautiful Moments range. I am loving the papers this new company are producing.  The second layout is made with the left overs and the title cut on the Storybook cricut cartridge.

I am using the same range for a canvas class next week and I have already made another layout with the bits and pieces I had left from these layouts and the canvas. Just got to stick it all down but unpacking more boxes keeps getting in the way..lol!! I am pleased though I am keeping to my promise of using all my leftovers up and not putting them in a bag to use at a later date and not!!

Details of the all day class which includes the canvas are on my side bar, I still have some spaces left if you fancy a fun day out playing with paper and ink etc.

Monochromatic class

Had my first scrapbooking class in what seems like ages today. The theme was monochromatic but it ended up being more cream and black than white and black..lol! A technique based layout using Clearly for art plastic to make the black flowers/leaves, using some Hero Art stamps. Tim Holtz tissue tape to make the white flowers cut on the Tattered florals die and Chloe stems and Piestra Tile cut with some of my new Memory box dies.

Closer look at the flowers

A few Timmys swirls on Doodlebug crushed velvet card and a lovely little Inkadinkado birdy stamp to finish.

The paper is from Bazzill who are now going into patterened paper and the title is cut on Tim's Vintage market Sizzix die.

Have a great weekend

July class at In2crafting

To anyone coming to the class this saturday at Wickford, the photo size is 1 6x4 portrait black and white. The paper has a more creamy background than I thought, so I have used cream as well as white in the layout. If you prefer sepia photos, that would work as well. Photo theme can be whatever you like but there are flowers on the page so maybe not a male on his own, but anything else would go. Title is completely upto you and the class is technique based this month so an easy layout to give you time to play making the flowers.
Any questions, you can get me via the shop or on jackiedasilva07@gmail.com.

To everyone else, I have finally moved but still in a complete mess but hopefully next week when I have decorators in I will have time to post some layouts.

Springtime

Today I had my monthly class at In2crafting. This months kit was Echo Parks Springtime, a easy clean and simple double layout. I do have another single page but I could not get to my photos to finish so will post that one another day.

Butterfly border is from Tim holtz, everything else was in the kit.

Have a fab weekend

Monday 7 May 2012

Still keeping to the plan...

....to use up all my left over scraps before I do anything else! I had a whole sheet of cardstock, some small pieces of cardstock, some die cuts that I had brought but not used, a few buttons and some bakers twine left from this months kit. So I spent some time last night putting this layout together, pleased how it turned out. Sometimes you can have too much stuff and spend hours moving pieces of paper around and around, when you have limited supplies...its seems easier..lol!

Everything is from My Minds Eye Dilly Dally, love this range but then I say that about all My Minds Eye! Border punch is Martha Stewart Cherish punch, great for boys layouts.

Hope you have a had a lovely Bank holiday, back soon with more layouts

International Scrapbooking Day and monthly class

What a great day to hold a class....even if it was last minute..lol! Wasn't sure whether we would get one this month but as move has been delayed again I had a free Saturday.

This months kit uses My Minds Eye Dilly Dally, we did two layouts with the kit...one leaning towards the boys for a change and with the rest of the kit I did a layout suitable for an Celebratory occasion.

The stars from the first layout were cut on the cricut using the Plantin cartridge and the flowers were made with the Tim Holtz Paper Rosettes die in all 3 sizes. I used Bakers Twine for the first time and added buttons with glue dots to hold in place. The kit included two fabulous tickets stamps from Crafts-4-you.

Managed to take a few photos of the ladies hard at work!

Hope you manage to catch at few hours to get some scrapping done this bank holiday weekend, does not look like the weathers going to be much good!

Aprils In2crafting class

Last Saturday I had my monthly class at the shop and this month we used Authentique cardstock. The theme was " All about the boys" and we did two single layouts.

Products used:
  • Authentique Loyal, Bazzill cardstock
  • Crafters Workshop template Circle grid 6x6
  • Distress ink
  • Buttons and Brads
The grid template was used with some Distress ink to great the background in the corners and the star was cut on the cricut using the Plantin cartridge.

This is the second layout, using more of the stickers and the fab alphabet on the sheet.

Friends

Another layout I managed to get done recently using some papers from years ago. No idea of the collection but its from Bo Bunny and I just had a couple of sheets of patterned cardstock and a sheet of stickers. I used my bendy ruler to make the swirl at the bottom and I used a Tattered Angels template from a set I found at the back of one of my cupboards !! I kept it simple by sponging some Distress ink Antique Linen through the template with a foam applicator.

Back soon with the layouts we did in class on Saturday....just got to retake photos because I forgot on Saturday.

Gitz Hoopla part 2

Todays page is made up from the scraps I had left over from my last one, its clean and simple but thats fine, I like that style. The flourishs are cut on the cricut and the alphabet is from Fancy Pants. To make the pierced lines up the side I used my Tim Holtz ruler. The flowers are Marianne die with some brads from my stash as is the white lace. The date sticker came from the same Glitz Hoopla collection. The tiny alphabet stickers are from Cosmo Cricket and come in a range of colours.

A Cause to Celebrate

I have been a bit quiet as getting ready to move had taken up lots of my time, but we are still in limbo as to when exactly we are going to move so I decided to get productive with some scrapping. I dont have a craft room anymore as its full of boxes, so I moved onto the dining room table. Yet to be packed, is my infamous crate of bags of cardstock etc that has to be finished. 90% of it is left overs from other kits that I have done but I could not bring myself to throw away....that might explain why I have some much stuff !! Then theres a few bags of papers etc with some photos in them that I had thought would work well. Todays layout is one of those.....papers I brought last year and never got around to scrapping.

I love this colour combo, bright green, turquoise and black, very fresh and clean looking.Great for a "not afraid of the white space" style of layout. This photo of Emma on her 21st is one I had not gotten around to scrapping and to be honest the colour photo was not great. So a little play on Picasa and I turned it into black and white and added a few new features that are on there and I was really pleased with the result.....so was she which is good !!

All the cardstock is Glitz Hoopla, the corner die is Marianne and the border is a beautiful die from Memory Box called Meridan. I cut the cake out of one of the papers and added some pearls. The alphabet for the title is from Prima. The white roses on ribbon were from my stash but are readily available from most shops.

I will be back with another layout I made with the "left overs" from these papers...my promise is to now finish off using everything in the bags and not put them back in the crate....not sure how long that will last..lol!

Marchs kit

With everything going on I completely forgot to post photos of the mini book the girls did with me at home and at the shop last month.  We had tabbed chipboard and acrylic pages in a 6x6 album. The kit included 6x6 papers from the new Prima Almanac range together with flowers, some grungepaper and Tim Holtz tags. I knew, what with getting ready to move, that I would not have time to sort photos etc so my album is in readiness for wedding photos that are going to be taken in June. As to give the girls some guidance to where photos would go and sizes etc I have attached plain paper pieces with removable glue.

First up the cover, using Tim Weathered clock in grungepaper

Products used:

  • Woodware chipboard album
  • Prima Almanac 6x6 pad
  • Prima Almanac flowers
  • Prima Songbird Stamps
  • Tim Holtz Weathered clock, Vintage cabinet dies
  • Tim Holtz Inkessentials tags
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, Black Soot and Adirondak Rust
  • Tim Holtz Distress Stain Picket Fence
  • Bazzill cardstock
  • Black DL envelopes
  • Bazzill brad
  • Glitz alphabet stickers
All the ephemera was from the sheets in the paper pack, I used the stamps to the tags and on cardstock to cover the pockets made from envelopes. The distress stain was used to colour the clock face and I used Black soot ink to colour the hands. Mini books are a great project for a event, weekend away etc where you dont want to or have time to dedicate a whole 12x12 album to. Great idea for presents as well.

Looking forward to a crafty day tomorrow with my monthly crop, whatever you are doing have a great Easter weekend.
