Gitz Hoopla part 2

Todays page is made up from the scraps I had left over from my last one, its clean and simple but thats fine, I like that style. The flourishs are cut on the cricut and the alphabet is from Fancy Pants. To make the pierced lines up the side I used my Tim Holtz ruler. The flowers are Marianne die with some brads from my stash as is the white lace. The date sticker came from the same Glitz Hoopla collection. The tiny alphabet stickers are from Cosmo Cricket and come in a range of colours.

A Cause to Celebrate

I have been a bit quiet as getting ready to move had taken up lots of my time, but we are still in limbo as to when exactly we are going to move so I decided to get productive with some scrapping. I dont have a craft room anymore as its full of boxes, so I moved onto the dining room table. Yet to be packed, is my infamous crate of bags of cardstock etc that has to be finished. 90% of it is left overs from other kits that I have done but I could not bring myself to throw away....that might explain why I have some much stuff !! Then theres a few bags of papers etc with some photos in them that I had thought would work well. Todays layout is one of those.....papers I brought last year and never got around to scrapping.

I love this colour combo, bright green, turquoise and black, very fresh and clean looking.Great for a "not afraid of the white space" style of layout. This photo of Emma on her 21st is one I had not gotten around to scrapping and to be honest the colour photo was not great. So a little play on Picasa and I turned it into black and white and added a few new features that are on there and I was really pleased with the result.....so was she which is good !!

All the cardstock is Glitz Hoopla, the corner die is Marianne and the border is a beautiful die from Memory Box called Meridan. I cut the cake out of one of the papers and added some pearls. The alphabet for the title is from Prima. The white roses on ribbon were from my stash but are readily available from most shops.

I will be back with another layout I made with the "left overs" from these papers...my promise is to now finish off using everything in the bags and not put them back in the crate....not sure how long that will last..lol!

Marchs kit

With everything going on I completely forgot to post photos of the mini book the girls did with me at home and at the shop last month.  We had tabbed chipboard and acrylic pages in a 6x6 album. The kit included 6x6 papers from the new Prima Almanac range together with flowers, some grungepaper and Tim Holtz tags. I knew, what with getting ready to move, that I would not have time to sort photos etc so my album is in readiness for wedding photos that are going to be taken in June. As to give the girls some guidance to where photos would go and sizes etc I have attached plain paper pieces with removable glue.

First up the cover, using Tim Weathered clock in grungepaper

Products used:

  • Woodware chipboard album
  • Prima Almanac 6x6 pad
  • Prima Almanac flowers
  • Prima Songbird Stamps
  • Tim Holtz Weathered clock, Vintage cabinet dies
  • Tim Holtz Inkessentials tags
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tea Dye, Black Soot and Adirondak Rust
  • Tim Holtz Distress Stain Picket Fence
  • Bazzill cardstock
  • Black DL envelopes
  • Bazzill brad
  • Glitz alphabet stickers
All the ephemera was from the sheets in the paper pack, I used the stamps to the tags and on cardstock to cover the pockets made from envelopes. The distress stain was used to colour the clock face and I used Black soot ink to colour the hands. Mini books are a great project for a event, weekend away etc where you dont want to or have time to dedicate a whole 12x12 album to. Great idea for presents as well.

Looking forward to a crafty day tomorrow with my monthly crop, whatever you are doing have a great Easter weekend.

February kit

On Saturday I had my monthly scrapbook class, this month we used Bo Bunny Vicki B papers and embellishments. The first layout entailed some sewing and the use of my EK Success circle cutter. The leaves are a Marianne Branch Forest die and the flowers are made with the stamp set from the range. The explore was cut on my cricut. This months kit included a pack of chipboard embellishments. The ribbon is just cream seam binding ruffled along a piece of double sided tape.

I always try and make another layout up with the pieces that are left over and as I had a circle frame left from the first layout, I designed the page around that.

This kit is the one that I am doing on the 25th at the shop, so for the girls that are coming to that you need a 6x4 landscape photo and then a 6x4 portrait photo and 2 smaller ones approx 3x2. If you want you could put a little pic inside the chipboard frame. Photos for the scond layout could be added after.

Keep warm

January Kit

Today I had my monthly scrapping class and this was the double layout I designed using the January kit.

Papers and stickers are all Echo Park Seasons Greetings. I had some cardstock left and plenty of stickers so I made another layout with my scraps.

This is the same layout we are doing next week at Wickford. I have used a 7"x5" on one side and and 1 6"x 4" plus 4 3" x 2" landscapes on the otherside. The single layout is another 3 more 3" x 2" but you could use a 6"x4" as well.

A little time to scrap

I hope you all had a great Christmas....just before the cookathon kicked off for Christmas Day I managed to snatch a couple of hours to do a bit of scrapping.  With all the cards done I like to spend some time over the holidays to scrap photos of past Christmas's that I have not used yet.  It also helps trying to make some indent in the mountain of Christmas papers I have!!

These photos are from a day out James and Kylie had last year to the Christmas market in Manchester last year with friends. These papers are from Pink Paislee and the colour combo is very different, I brought them last year before he went and amazingly they match really well with the photos they took!!

The collection is called Mistletoe and Co and for the title I used some Prima chipboard alphabets, everything else is from Pink Paislee.

Canvas class

This month I taught a canvas class at home and in the shop instead of a layout. These are ideal to give as gifts or keep yourself.  The paper range is My Minds Eye Lost and Found 2 Sunshine and I used the 6x6 pad. The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and the border punch is Martha Stewart Arch Lattice. I used a Nestabilities tag to cut out the "adore" and then added a few brads. The canvas was primed and sealed with Mod Podge and I added some lace and pearls to the flower centres. The title was a Tim Holtz alphabet "Vintage Market" which I covered with matt accents and the leaves were Martha Stewart Frond punch.
