Totalpapercrafts Dec Kit 2

I was asked by Karen to design the 2nd kit for December using the fab papers and chipboard die cuts from Cosmo Crickets range 'Jolly By Golly'. I wanted to use some photos of a holiday I took with friends in Austria just before Christmas 2007 so I used a the snowy theme as against another Christmas one, although there are both on the chipboard sheets. I used Safmat for the journaling, a great product if you like to type your journaling on the computer and then you just peel the backing off and stick down onto some paper and as its transparent you dont see it...I have been using it alot and would recomend it.

This second layout is made from the papers etc I had left over from the first layout....makes the kit great value for money. All I added was some more plain cardstock and for the girls who have brought the kit I have used a 7x5 sized photo in both layouts but there is room for you to use 2 smaller 6x4 photos.

Totalpapercrafts dec kit 1

Here is my version of the Decembers first kit designed by Tracey. The paper layout is the same but I have changed the photo sizes and the position of the embellishments. I have used 4 6x4 landscape and 2 6x4 portraits..some of them have had a little bit taken off. The papers are My Minds Eye and you get a whole pack of crystal gems to use on your page.

Totalpapercrafts Nov kit 2

For the girls coming next week to Karens crop, here is the layout we will be doing designed by Claire. I have used the same photo sizes 1 6 x 4 & 2 x 2.5 x 4 portrait. You need a dark brown and a rouge/red ink pad, the red gel pen you get in the kit. Papers/die cuts are My Little shoebox..Imagine a forest.
My next class is on Saturday 28th November....details on my side bar.

Next Totalpapercrafts kit

Here is the double layout for the next Totalpapercrafts club night. Papers are Cosmo Cricket Earth Love. Photos are 1 7x5 and 2 6x4 portrait or you could do 2 3x2 landscapes as I have done. Just bear in mind that the large photo has a strip 1" wide cut off the side so you dont want to be cutting into someones face!!

Totalpapercrafts kit

As Karen and Dave are away getting married I am running the crops for the next few weeks, this is Karens 2nd October kit, designed by Claire from her Kent club.

Claire managed to get a second layout from what was left over from the kit and this layout below is my version of it, I had to use something else for the leaves and I changed the photo layout but I love these Pink Paislee papers, so rich and perfect for this time of year.

Bo Bunny Popsicle

These are the layouts the girls did in todays class....we used Bo Bunny Popsicle range to make some Summer themed layouts. Brighter colours than we are used to working with...but great for beach and water photos. They did a single and a double layout ...I have posted seperate photos of the double so you can see them better. I used a new product called Safmat to do the journaling, just type and print out on your computer and the Safmat is clear and sticky on the back so you can just stick it down on top of your cardstock and its almost invisible. Great if you dont like your own handwriting on your journaling.

My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow class

Here are the 2 layouts we did in todays class...all the cardstock is from the Bloom range. The first layout "Smiles" has the co-ordinating ribbons and flowers cut from the one of the cardstock sheets. The tags are a Sizzix die and the title was cut on the Cricut using Lyrical Letters cartridge. The "Beautiful" word is a stamp, buttons from stash and scalloped edge is a Quickutz border die.

The 2nd layout is a simple page suitable for a male/boy photo so I kept it flower free. The title and arrow are from Street Sign cartridge, buttons from stash.

Our next class is on the Saturday 19th September if you are interested in joining us.

Meeting Shrek

Finally found some time to do a page today... it was a kit so it was much quicker than making up my own layout. It was a dawn Evans kit from A Trip down memory lane crop yonks ago....I changed the layout slightly as I had a different sized photo. Unfortunately I threw away what was left of the papers so I dont know who made them...the circles are chipboard circles that I painted and the alphabet is Scenic Route. I made the photo corners with a EK Success punch and the circle behind the title are cut with Nestabilitie dies. Think the photo goes great with the papers and its one I have had since 2005...so at last it has been scrapped!

21st Birthday

I had to break into some lovely virgin 12x12 sheets of this fab Crate cardstock to make a card so I promised myself I would use the rest to make a page and not just put it all back in the draw!! I love Crate its so lovely and thick and doublesided which is a bonus! I had stickers to go with the range as well, so this is what I came up with.

I used a Bazzill stitiching template to do the pattern across the bottom and the flourish is a Sizzix die. The flower centres are just some small flower punches. The date stamp if from Imaginisce, everything else is Crate Cowgirl collection.

Pretty in Pink

Somehow these papers ended up in my basket after a quick trip to Sugar and Spice on Friday...amazingly enough..lol!! Still trying to use older photos and I remembered I had this photo of Emma which needed some tweeking on picasa, its still not perfect by any means but I can live with it and would rather have it in her album than not used at all. Everything is My Minds Eye, the title was done with American Craft thickers and the brads& buttons were from my stash. The flourish and the corners are sizzix and sizzlet dies.

Growing Up

I love this photo of my daughter when she was at Infants school and as the school colour was purple it was the perfect choice for this layout. The kit was from Totalpapercrafts, I made the scalloped circle from a Nestabililties die and added flat back gems around the edge. The papers are My minds eye Penny Lane. I love the idea karen had for running the ribbon through the page at the bottom....will definitely be using that idea again!

Have a great weekend be back soon with some more layouts

Madeira

Hope you all had a great weekend....what a great Wimbledon final yesterday, although I did wonder if I was ever going to get the dinner on!! lol.

Todays layout is another kit from Totalpapercrafts, the papers are from Kaisercraft and I think they go with this very old photo of my in-laws really well. Sadly neither of them are with us anymore and I dont have very many photos to scrap. Crochet flowers are very in at the moment and karen has a great selection. The title has been made with American Craft Thickers... I love these alphabets, very versatile and they come in a range of fonts and colours. I did the swirls slightly differently using a Sizzix die.

Hat race

Had a great time yesterday at my all day crop, scrapping all day...heaven! It was a bit warm though, so fans were out in force!!

One of the layouts I did was a kit from Totalpapercrafts....My Minds Eye papers I adore, so I just loved doing this page. I am also trying to use older photos, especially of the children. How I wished I had a digital camera when they were growing up! Is so much easier to use the my recent photos but I have huge gaps in their albums and these need to be filled, so I am just going to have to get on with using the smaller photos and adjust the layouts accordingly. This picture happens to be a good one....back in the days before my daughter grew up all to quickly!!
Keep cool...its going to be a scorcher week!
This time next week will we be looking at photos of Andy Murray holding the mens champions cup at Wimbeldon?? I do hope so....but I fear I have still have to sit through many more nail bitting moments before we get to the finals!! lol but we should be used to that after watching Tim for all those years!

Laugh, Live, Love

This is the one layout the girls did at this weeks class, more Andrea Victoria..I know, but thats a fluke as I had this class planned before I got karens kit! Its a simple double layout, the title and corners have been cut on the circuit. The amber flowers in the centres are a Martha Stewart punch. The grey flowers a Sizzix die.

K & Co Madeline

This is the layout I taught at the Totalpapercrafts crop on Sunday. The whole range is from K & Co and makes a beautiful heritage page...although you could use more modern photos as well. I showed them how to do the pleats and they all did it really well, especially as it was last class and they were starting to get tired..lol!! For the labels I used a Nestabilites dies labels 4 and the gem stones come on the sheet of rub-ons. The girls also got a set of the fab velvet flowers in the kit with gem and pearl topped brads....as always fantastic value kits rom Karen. The photo is of my Nan when she was a child...I only have a couple of photos of her but she looks so beautiful! Not had a chance to complete my journaling yet...just need to check some details with Mum.
I still have some spaces left for an all day crop this sunday 28th if you are interested n Benfleet, £15.00 for the day, free tea/coffee etc and you will get a kit for a 12x12 layout complete with instructions.
Email me if you would like to come and I can pass on directions etc.

Andrea Victoria

Had a great day yesterday at the Totalpapercrafts all day crop in Kent, although I am shattered I think the girls enjoyed my classes. The layout I am posting today is the first class I took, I did not design this class, the lovely Claire did but was unable to attend yeaterdays crop. Karen asked me to do my version of the kit with some smaller photos as Claire had used just one 7 x 5 landscape. The panel with D & E opens out in a cross and there are 4 other small photos inside. I added two of the tags (ones on the reverse) instead of more flowers. I am getting some mixed reactions to this line but I love it....its a bit different and sometimes its good to use papers you would not necessarily go for. Everything in the layout is from the Andrea Victoria range of papers and die cuts, the ribbon is from kuretake and the alphabet stamps are an Inkadinkado clear set.

Back tomorrow with my K&Co Madeline layout. Enjoy your Sunday! Happy fathers day to all dads!!

MME Andrea Victoria

OK, so I am still here but been completely sidetracked with card making and scrapbooking has had to take a back seat for a while....but I am back on top of things now so hopefully posts should return to being a bit more regular!

Monday 22nd June is my next scrapbooking class...we are using the stunning papers by MME. Please don't hate me but I love this range....very different to anything else on the market colour wise at the moment. I just hope you love them as much as I do....they suit colour, sepia and b&w photos. Its a mix of gray/black with deep creams and ochres....would suit any theme. I am just putting the final touches to my layouts for class but as usual as I have gone to print the photos I have run out of one colour ink...so photo sizes will be forwarded in the next day or so. Its £15.00 for the class, we start at 10.30 and usually finish mid afternoon. If you would like to come please email me on Jackiedasilva@talktalk.net to reserve a place.

If you cant come but would like to come along to my all day crop on Sunday 28th June ....I still have spaces. £15.00 again from 9.30 to 5.00, prices includes free tea/coffee/cakes etc and a kit for either a mini book or layout{still working on that one} you dont have to do the kit on the day, you get full instructions to complete it at home. The hall I am using is the WRVS hall in Benfleet. Again email me to reserve a place.

To be going on with here is a layout I did with some papers I had left over from the Basic Grey Marrakech kit. The stamps are Heidi Swapp for the Precious and Technique Tuesday for the journalling. I have left that one blank as these pages are for someone elses album and I am going to let them do their own journaling. The photo turn are a Sizzlet die....everything else is BG.

Back soon ....promise;)

Times flies!

Ok so who is pinching all the hours in a day!! Card classes have overtaken me for a while and scrapbooking has had to take a step back but hopefully I will have some time soon to get back on track.

I do have a layout to share....finally using some BG papers that have been deglected for far too long. Also managed to use some chipboard scalloped circles that were a gift from Kerry...yonks ago. I painted it with white acrylic paint and edged with a brown ink. Everything else on the page is Basic Grey Gypsy and the pink circle was left for the age to be stuck in...this is for somebody elses album so I am leaving journaling etc to them.

Also coming up an all day crop

If you fancy a day scrapbooking and catching up with all those half done projects that you have been meaning to finish or you have a project you are eager to start but not had the time, why not spend the day with us on Sunday 28th June. £15.00 for the day, includes all drinks/cakes etc and a mini book kit, which you can do on the day or take home to complete. Instructions and photos will be inside the kit. Its at the WRVS hall Benfleet....instructions on how to get there can be emailed to you. I will be there from 9.30 so you are free to come anytime after that....hoping to go onto about 5/6, just waiting to her that is ok with the lady that opens up for me. I will confirm with you if you are coming. Email me jackiedasilva@talktalk.net if you are interested

My Minds Eye

This is the last layout I have to show you from the retreat...the papers are MME French Flea market and the class was taught by Suzanne Torr. I think this is probably my favourite from the weekend. I love the torn look that is so popualr at the moment and those pearls and sequins are sewn on.

Embossing

Forgot I have two other layouts from the retreat to post. Todays one involves heat embossing acetate. Wehad an array of stamps to choose from and with a Versamark ink pad we stamped the image onto the acetate and the with different colour embossing powders heat set the mbossing powder with a heat gun. Then we could either leave them with a clear background or colour the backs. You can use embossing powders again or paint, pens etc whatever sticks to acetate. Fun class and great to mess about with a technique rather than concentrate on a layout. That said I am a huge Cosmo Cricket fan anyhow so I was always going to love this page. I also chanced my luck and embossed on the photograph....yikes!! it does work but you have to be careful to not hold the heat gun to close or it will damage the photo and if I did it again I would wipe my photo with an anti-static pad before I stamped and embossed. They are great little pads of powder, almost like talc, that clean the surface of your photo or card and dry any marks left by your fingers so the powder does not stick to where it is not supposed to be. If I look close I can see some specks of powder but I can live with it on this page...lol. Title has been done with American Craft chipboard thickers and the bling is from a pack of Prima flourishes. Everything we used should still be available from Mel and Jill at A trip down memory lane web site here The embossing powders we used were the new American craft Zing powder...fab colours with a pearl lustre!
Have a great weekend, hopefully the weather will hold!!

Basic Grey Marrakech

Another layout from the retreat, this time a class I did with Annie Hafermann. Marrakech is a fab collection of papers....its quite alot brighter and bolder than previous collections Basic Grey have brought out but I love it especially for boys and men layouts. All the papers and embellishments are from the same collection, the title has been cut out of chipboard using Ellison alphabet Go Slim and then inked with a cats eye chalk pad.
Hope you are having a great Easter!

Molly

This layout was based on a pencil lines sketch we were given at the retreat for one of the challenges. I had these photo's of our new puppy Molly with me so I decided to use them in conjunction with some 7 gypsies cardstock stickers and papers. I dont know which range of 7 gypsies the papers are from I'm afraid. The cardstock stickers come in a huge range of titles and all the stickers on the page come from one sheet and I have tons left to use on more layouts....you can get them from the A trip down memory lane web site. The title was done with American Crafts Thickers also available from ATDML.
Have a great Easter!

Happily Everafter

I just had some finishing off to do on this page from my retreat...which I managed to do last night. This layout was a class with Anna Bowkis...I love her work and am always admiring her layouts on her blog. We used Cosmo Cricket Happily everafter papers & stickers...I think the recent lines of Cosmo Cricket are some of the best they have produced and along with My Minds Eye and Basic Grey one of my favourite scrapbook companys. I love the colours of this range, beautifully muted greys and soft lemons and orange...definitely made for wedding layouts whether heritage or modern. The flowers were hand made, easily done by cutting out circles of cardstock and distressing them with either scissors or a distressing tool, inking the edges and scrunching up the paper. The repeat again with a smaller sized circle and I added some of the lace that was leftover and brads....voila!! handmade flowers.

Song title challenge

Whilst I was away we were given some challenges to do...one of them is todays layout. We were given the singles chart for inspiration and we had to do a layout incorporating the title or artist of one of the songs. Everything on this page is from the Basic Grey Periphery range except the flowers which are from my stash and the flower brad is from Dovecraft.

Retreat

Apologies for lack of blogging but I have been busy busy busy with layouts and kits I cant show yet as they are for classes and I have been away on a retreat this weekend. I can highly recommend the retreats put on by Mel and the team from A trip down memory lane. The hotel we stay at is brilliant and the food lovely and plenty of it....its just exhausting scrapping all that time...but I love it!!

I am going to be showing you what I got upto whilst I was away over the next few days.....first my canvas. This was done with the brilliant Suzanne Torr, I have never done a canvas before even though I have a stash of them waiting to be done in my cupboard. The papers are Making Memories Paper Rouge range, the smaller hearts I cut on the cricut and the title is white chipboard thickers from American Crafts.

Cosmo Cricket ...Family

This is a birthday present I made for my best friend Kerry who now lives in Australia...it was her birthday on Monday but I did not want to post this before I knew she had received it.

I made it from a kit by Cosmo Cricket Dutch girl...I love this range has to be one of my favourites. I made it with photos of her and hubby kevin plus photos of their wonderful daughters Lauren and Holly. They have been caught up in all the fires in melbourne but thank god they are safe and their house is ok...although she did email me last night and they have had an earthquake!! The set comprises 5 chipboard rectangles which you cover with cardstock and lace together with ribbons and then add diecuts. Its not the easiest thing to photograph so I have taken several shots.

This is the other page I did using almost the same layout as my last post. I used BG Periphery that I have had for years and never used. The border again was off of a technique tuesday frame, the flourishes are a ek success punch and I used a button from my stash. Everything else is from the BG collection.

Heidi Grace

Finally managed to get some scrapbooking done last night....I have quite alot of cardmaking work going on at the moment and its taking all my time. Hopefully after next week I will back to working my way through my unfinished stuff!!

These layouts are from a Scrapagogo kit, the first layout is one the design team did in the book that comes with the kit, the Retreat is one of my own. No date on this one as I cant for the life of me remember when it was...only that it was at Scrapaholics retreat in Luton. Kerry when you see this put your thinking hat on...was it the year you left or the year before..lol!!

Everything I have used was in the kit. At the weekend I will post the layouts I have done for a class on Saturday.
